Steam Eggs In The Rice Cooker

Eggs

Hard boiled eggs are a easy snack to make. Eggs are a source of protein. My daughter discovered that she likes to eat hard boiled eggs after one Easter egg hunt. She now asks for me to make them. I used to use a regular pot and boil them.

Until I used my rice cooker to steam them. I have the Aroma Rice Cooker with a steam setting. It comes with that white tray that sits snugly on top. You can steam veggies in there as well.

For my first time, I put 5 eggs on top. In the bottom part, I used two cups of water. Close the top. Press the steam setting twice. When I press my steam setting it reads 5 minutes. Overall, I steamed them for 10 minutes.

After they are finished you can put them in a ice bath for a few minutes before you peel them. Peeling is easy and clean. Usually if I boil the eggs traditionally. they crack on me or it becomes a mess to peel.

This is now my favorite way to cook hard boiled eggs.

Have you ever tried to steam eggs?

  1. I never knew you could do this! I always boil them and sometimes I forget lol! But this sounds like a much easier way! I can't wait to try it.

  2. I love steaming eggs instead of boiling. I usually do it in my water bath canner with the rack lifted. It fits around 2 dozen eggs and it's perfect for egg salad
